Booking and Other Q & A

Prices:

Prices vary according to the length of the wedding and driving distance.  Please contact Shelley for an individual quote.  Usually ceremonies are between $275 and $325, and adding the cocktail hour adds an additional $100.

How to Book and What Happens Next:

To reserve Shelley for your wedding, contact her for availability and a price quote.  When you’re ready to book, a $50 deposit locks in the date.  Shelley will then discuss music options with you, and summarize it all in a performance contract containing the event information (date, time, place) and any other important details for your event.

Commonly Asked Questions and other details:

How do I go about choosing my music?  You can book a consultation (either before or after booking–and either way it’s free) to hear various selections, discuss particulars, and see what is the right fit for your event.  Or, you can look at and listen to the song list.  If you need ideas, Shelley can provide recommendations as to what works well for weddings and will work with you to choose music that will add that special touch to your special day!

Is the harp loud enough to be heard at outdoor weddings and cocktail hours?  Yes.  If needed, Shelley uses a compact sound system…or a battery-powered amplifier for venues without electricity.

My wedding is going to take place outside.  Can I still have harp music for my ceremony? Yes!  Shelley has played for weddings on beaches, gardens, farms, and hay fields.  The only tricky part is rain or mist which can damage the harp.  This is easily solved by a tent or a back-up location.

My friend wants to sing a song at my wedding ceremony.  Is it possible to have harp music as an accompaniment? Yes, in most cases.  The person would need to meet with Shelley beforehand for a rehearsal and to discuss performance details.

Where did you get your harp? Shelley’s harp is made by Rick Rubarth in Colorado.
